North Texas clay does not forgive bad grading. French drains, surface drains and re-grading so the water leaves your yard instead of sitting against your foundation.

Joe went to college and graduated from UTA with a bachelor's degree. He got on as a project manager for a construction company and developed subdivisions. It was there that he found his niche — and he decided to strike out on his own designing and constructing landscapes.
Joe has owned and operated GroundScape since 2003, serving the Greater DFW Area. He is married with two children, Caleb and Ellie.

Covered patios, cedar pergolas, outdoor kitchens and fire features.
A patio is more than just an architectural feature. It's a lifestyle asset, a comfort zone, and a personal oasis.
We build the covered patios, pergolas and arbors that make a Texas backyard usable in August, the outdoor kitchens that keep the cooking outside, and the fire features that keep people out there once the sun drops.
Designed around how you actually use it
Jason Meek has specialised in pools and outdoor living for the last fourteen years. Pergolas, covered patios, outdoor kitchens, fire features, pool repairs — he has got you covered.
Shade that makes the space usable in a Texas summer.
Built in cedar, on stone or timber columns.
Built-in grill, counter and storage.
The reason people stay outside after dark.
Renovation and new install around the water.
The yard keeps working after sunset.
Flagstone, paver, stamped or stained
Patios, pathways, driveways, flowerbed edging and retaining walls.
Whether it's a Flagstone Patio, Stained Concrete Patio, Stamped Concrete Patio, or a Paver Patio, GroundScape can install it.
Retaining walls
Retaining walls have long been a fundamental element in commercial and residential construction. We offer retaining wall construction and paver installation for the developer and the homeowner — and we do it by providing dependable service at affordable prices with beautiful results.
In North Texas a wall is rarely only about the wall. What sits behind it — the grade, the drainage, the base — decides whether it is still straight in ten years.
Natural stone, tight joints, laid on a proper base.
Interlocking, in the pattern you choose.
When you want the look on a concrete budget.
Residential and developer work.
Clean lines where stone meets planting.
Front door to back gate, done once.
North Texas clay does not forgive bad grading
French drains, surface drains and re-grading — so water leaves instead of sitting.
If your yard holds water after a storm, the problem is almost never the grass. It's grade and drainage — and on North Texas clay, water that sits against a foundation is an expensive problem waiting to happen.
What we install
French drains with proper fall and clean rock, surface drains and inlets where the water actually collects, and re-grading so the yard sheds instead of ponding. We also handle sprinkler repair and irrigation as part of the same job, so the new grade and the heads agree with each other.
Fall, fabric and clean rock — done properly.
Placed where the water really goes.
The fix that makes the rest unnecessary.
Heads and lines corrected after grade changes.
Water moved away from the slab.
Stone and planting that hold the soil.
Green in August, green in the shade
Synthetic turf and sod, installed on a base that drains and stays flat.
Two places real grass gives up in North Texas: full August sun and deep shade under a live oak. Synthetic turf holds in both.
It's the base that fails, not the turf
Turf that goes wavy or holds water was almost always laid on a base that wasn't compacted or didn't drain. We build the base first — the same way we'd build it under stone — then lay and seam the turf over it.
We also install sod where real grass is the right answer.
Pet-friendly, drains, no mowing.
Firm base, true roll.
Where fescue and bermuda both give up.
When real grass is the right call.
Compacted and draining, before anything is laid.
Where turf meets stone, steel or bed.
Companies, developers, cities and HOAs
The same crew and the same standard, scaled to a property line.
GroundScape's Commercial Division works with companies, developers, cities and HOAs across the Greater DFW Area — retaining walls and paver installation for the developer, and landscape installation and maintenance for the property.
Xeriscape and water-wise planting
On commercial sites the water bill and the maintenance contract matter as much as the first impression. Xeriscape planting, stone and native beds cut both without making a property look unfinished.
One estimate, one crew, one point of contact — and an owner who still walks the site.
Retaining walls and paver installation at scale.
Consistent standard across a whole community.
Lower water, lower maintenance, still looks designed.
Site water handled before it becomes a claim.
Safety and presentation after dark.
Cities and public spaces.
